Subnautica 3 performance issues9/25/2023 ![]() ![]() And the shadows setting in F3 just blurs the shadows more and this still boosts performance.Īnd play in true fullscreen instead default borderless (only possible via launch options) So disabling them was a double win for me. They look terrible and very unnatural and draw a lot of performance. Light shafts look awful in this game anyways imo. Have you tried sacrificing light shafts and setting shadows to 2 or lower ? (F3 menu options only) I would love to have 'Screen-space reflections' and 'Ambient occlusion' on high settings without compromising the clipmaps-high settings. With chunksPerSide Modification (look at the vine) The impact on performance is extreme (get 45 to 70 depending on the biome) but will greatly reduce the pop-in of everything. I've use those value to get the result in the screenshot: In each of the four section modify the value of chunksPerSide Open \Subnautica\SNUnmanagedData\clipmaps-high.json (with notepad or Notepad++). I've let this thread alive just because, I do prefer, to have some performance issue over the pop'in, and I wanted to leave the option for other people to decide.įirst you must run the game on High graphic setting. To clarify in hope to save some people some time and effort, ANY modification to the file will result in poor performance (it's the limitation of the engine), there is nothing that can be done to get "good" performance. ![]()
